Chinatown Hotel
This hotel built on top of a parking garage was a very technical and challenging job. Space was tight at this site in the heart of Chinatown and the heavy lifts required our 500 ton Liebherr. We also had to minimize disruption to existing businesses in the area, which took extensive planning and coordination with the City of Chicago, general contractor and steel erector to make this happen.
O’hare terminal
A yearlong project at O’Hare Airport with various contractors. Nichols Crane was happy to assist with in planning, procuring FAA permits and completing each phase including the steel, mechanical, fire protection and doors!
Wanda vista
A critical lift on Upper Wacker with the city above and below. This luxury hotel is an historic Chicago site and the city’s third largest skyscraper.
This project required planning and coordination to address special matting needs and to maintain required outrigger pressures, and all while working in a tight space!
